Three men have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder over a shooting in east London which left a nine-year-old girl with life-changing injuries.

The girl was eating dinner with her family at a restaurant in Kingsland High Street in Dalston one evening in May last year when she was seriously injured.

The Metropolitan Police said on Thursday three men - aged 36, 35 and 28 - were arrested and released on bail pending further investigation.

Scotland Yard said the girl's family had been informed of the arrests and were being supported by specially trained officers. Three other men were injured in the shooting, the force added.

'Someone knows'

Det Ch Insp Ben Dalloway said: "A little girl's life was traumatically changed.

"The dangerous individual responsible for those life-changing injuries remains on our streets, and people out there know who pulled the trigger."

He added that the force wanted to identify an individual seen on a Ducati Monster motorcycle nearby at the time of this offence.

Anybody with information is being urged to contact detectives.
