Jobs are at risk at a food processing factory in Hull where nearly 1,000 people work.

Cranswick said it was consulting with workers at its Sutton Fields site, which specialises in cooked meats and slow cook meals.

The company said the move was due to a change in the business's structure.

It has not yet said how many jobs are affected.

A spokesperson said: "We have unfortunately started a consultation process with colleagues whose roles are at risk of redundancy.

"We understand this is a very difficult time for all those involved and will work with them to identify other job opportunities at the other Cranswick sites in the area."

According to its website, Cranswick employs about 950 workers at the site.

The company has other sites located throughout the UK.
