Teenage boy arrested after fatal stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following a stabbing.

Hertfordshire Police were called to reports of a fight between two men near Parkhouse Court, Hatfield, at about 13:10 GMT on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they found a man in his 20s with stab wounds who died at the scene.

The teenager was arrested in London at 04:00 GMT and is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

A 35-year-old Hatfield woman is in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Ch Insp Pete Frost, from Hertfordshire Police, said: "I hope news of these two arrests will help provide some reassurance to the local community following Sunday's incident.

"We have stepped up patrols in and around Hatfield town centre, and if you have any concerns then please do speak to our officers who are there to help."
