A man in his 50s died after he was struck by a car in Wolverhampton

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Wolverhampton.

Emergency services were called to Birmingham Road at about 13:15 GMT on Sunday after a man in his 50s was hurt in the crash.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics but was later pronounced dead, West Midlands Police confirmed.

A force spokesperson said the driver of the vehicle involved stopped after the incident and has been helping officers with their inquiries.

Police have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to get in touch.
