Mystery over octopus and fish left in square

A mystery surrounds the planting of an octopus and a fish on the railings of a town square.
A member of the Reading Conservation Area Advisory Committee noticed the fish and octopus on display, far from their natural habitats, beside the King George V Memorial Gardens at Eldon Square, Reading, on Wednesday.
They were subsequently reported to Reading Borough Council and Thames Valley Police.
It is currently unknown why they were left at the Georgian-style square in the first place. The BBC has contacted the police for comment.
