Tributes have been paid to a father-of-two killed at a motocross circuit on Sunday.

Wojtek Rozmus, 43, from London, had been riding the course at West Row, near Mildenhall in Suffolk.

Mr Rozmus' friend, Kyle Creevey, said he was "not just one of my best friends but a role model to how to be the perfect man".

"His smile would light up a room, his positive outlook on life would reassure you there is a fun side to life, his passion for motocross and extreme sports was undeniable."

In a now-deleted Facebook post, Mildenhall MX described the death as "shocking", adding: "We will be going through everything all over again because safety is first and foremost".

West Suffolk Council confirmed it was investigating.

Mr Creevey said his friend "was loved by all and hated by no-one - the nicest guy you would ever meet".

He said Mr Rozmus had two young daughters and had been with his wife for more than 20 years.

An online fundraiser "raising monies for his family to cover all the inevitable costs they will now incur" has seen more than £20,000 donated in under 24 hours.

The death of Mr Rozmus is the second fatal incident in six months at the motocross circuit, which is next to the West Row speedway and motorsports stadium.

Rider George Edwards, 17, died while taking part in an event in September.

In another Facebook post on Monday, also since deleted, the track said: "We are doing everything possible in light of yesterday's tragic event."

West Suffolk Council's health and safety department said: "We can confirm that we are investigating an incident at Mildenhall Motocross that has sadly resulted in the death of a motocross rider at the weekend, and our thoughts are with their friends and family."

The East of England Ambulance Service sent three road ambulances, a paramedic car and an air ambulance to the circuit.

"Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, a man died at the scene," a spokesperson said.
