A fire in north Belfast on Saturday morning is being treated as arson, police have said.

Sixty firefighters dealt with a fire at a commercial premises on Limestone Road at 02:26 GMT.

Police said there is "extensive damage" to the building and damage to machinery on site.

At the height of the incident nine fire appliances were supported by a command support unit and a specialist rescue team.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) advised residents in the area to keep their windows and doors closed as the fire was being dealt with and asked others to avoid the area.

The NIFRS later scaled back its response to the incident.

A NIFRS spokesperson said: "In total 60 firefighters have been involved in controlling this fire utilising breathing apparatus, firefighting jets and foam jets."
