More than 400 people dressed as Santa Claus have raised £11,000 at an annual fun run event in Jersey.

The Santa Dash run, which took place on 5 December, broke its fundraising record for Jersey Hospice Care, organisers said.

The charity said the funds would cover about a week of care in its patient unit.

Marina Brockbank, community engagement officer at Jersey Hospice Care, said she was "thrilled" with the efforts of everyone involved.

She said: "Not only did we have a brilliant turnout, but it also raised the most amount of money it's ever raised – and that just shows how fantastic our dashers and their supporters are.

"It makes a huge difference in supporting the work we do.

"Thanks again to everyone who took part or supported our fun run."
