Flood warnings issued across a stretch of coast

Flood alerts and warnings have been issued across a stretch of coast by the Environment Agency.

Five places in Norfolk have been given flood warnings due to expected high tides.

The Environment Agency stated on its website: "High spring tides combined with a tidal surge will result in higher tide levels than usual between 19:45 and 21:45 BST."

Precautionary Evacuation Notices have been issued at Hunstanton, and Heacham and Snettisham seafront by the authority.

It also said that Salthouse, East Cley and Wells Quay are expected to be impacted.

"Take care on beaches, coastal roads and footpaths, and don't put yourself or others in danger."

"We are monitoring the situation and are not expecting it to escalate," it added.

The authority has also warned of potential flooding in other areas across the county.
