Plans to rebuild factory destroyed by fire
Plans to rebuild a factory that was destroyed by a fire last year have been submitted.
The premises on the Atlas Trading Estate on Cross Street in Bradley, Wolverhampton, was devastated by the blaze which broke out in the early hours of 14 January 2024.
At the height of the incident, 12 fire engines crewed by about 70 firefighters were at the scene tackling the flames.
A planning application, submitted by Gavin Lally, has proposed to reconstruct the 100m by 30m building after the fire resulted in the "total loss" of the site.
In a statement filed with the plans, the applicant's agents DPS Architects said the intention was to rebuild on the same footprint using the existing foundations.
The firm said it would provide three units, each measuring 545 sq m, which would either be sold or let to potential tenants.
Wolverhampton City Council is due to make a decision on the application by 19 March.
