New fitness classes introduced in Fenland towns
A new programme which aims to help people be more active has been launched in Fenland.
The sessions run by Active Fenland, a service from Fenland District Council, include a programme for people hoping to lose weight, Couch to 5k running sessions and strength classes for people who are older and less mobile.
The programme is delivered with funding support from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Integrated Care System and Cambridgeshire County Council.
Alex Miscandlon, Conservative councillor and leisure portfolio holder at Fenland District Council, said: "If the traditional January feelings of wanting to really take action now have hit for you, Active Fenland provides a supportive, fun, gentle and inexpensive way to take the first step."
Active Fenland aims to provide opportunities for people to live more active lives, and operates across Chatteris, March, Whittlesey, Wisbech, Doddington, Fenland and Wimblington.
They are designed to be free, or low cost to join.
