A small primary in the Highlands is set to be permanently closed after being mothballed since 2022.

The catchment area for the school at Kinlochewe in Wester Ross will be transferred to Gairloch - about 20 miles (32km) away.

Highland Council said there were not enough children "of suitable age" for it to remain open. The closure follows a consultation earlier in the year.

The school has been mothballed for the past three years with pupils transferred to Gairloch or Shieldaig primaries. Scottish government ministers will be asked to approve the decision.
