A woman has died after a house fire broke out in Coventry.

West Midlands Police were called to Sandy Lane at about 14:30 GMT on Saturday, where they found the body of a woman, aged in her 30s, inside the property.

The force said officers remained at the scene and it was working with West Midlands Fire Service to establish the cause of the fire, which was being treated as unexplained.

It urged anyone with information about the blaze to come forward.
