Once on scene firefighters found a fire involving an electrical unit in the basement, they said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said its officers assisted the fire crews by closing Embankment Road outbound at the junction with Cattedown roundabout while they dealt with the fire. The road was reopened soon after 10:00 GMT.
