Inflation falls to 2.5% in Jersey
The cost of living in Jersey is still rising but not as quickly as before, inflation figures show.
The Jersey Retail Price Index (RPI) measures changes in the price of goods and services.
In September the figure was 3%, but December's figure was 2.5%. The rate of inflation has fallen since the historically high level of 12.7% in early 2023.
Fuel and light costs - which includes electricity, gas, and other household energy sources used for lighting and heating - increased to 7.8%, followed by leisure services which increased to 6.5%. Food prices increased to 3.8%.
Areas contributing to the decrease were housing, fares and other travel groups.
