An owl has gone missing from a wildlife sanctuary in Cornwall.

Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary in Hayle said its European eagle owl called Frank had escaped on Wednesday during training for a flying show.

Nick Reynolds, the sanctuary's director said the owl had been "distracted and flew off" but had since remained very close to the park.

The last sighting was at Hayle Tennis Club about 22:00 GMT on Thursday.

Mr Reynolds said: "He has a tracker, but we are not getting any signal now so asking if anyone spots him, to let us know as soon as possible so the keepers and staff can encourage him back."

He said people could message the park on social media or call their office if they spotted the owl.
