Police closed a stretch of Limpsfield Road in Warlingham in both directions

A woman has died in a crash in a rural road near the village of Chelsham, Surrey Police has said.

The single-vehicle crash happened in Limpsfield Road at about 11:30 BST on Wednesday.

The road is closed in both directions between the junctions with Ledgers Road and Beech Farm Road, the force added.

The force is advising motorists to avoid the area while an investigation into the circumstances of the crash remains ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is urged to contact the force.
