Plans to turn a former nightclub in Leicester into flats have been approved.

Officers at Leicester City Council have granted planning permission to convert a three-storey New Bond Street building which was last home to Lily's Live Lounge.

Applicant Nigel Reeves Planning and Urban Design wants to create four flats on the first and second floors of the property.

A previous application earmarked the roof space of the building for a fifth flat but the council said that was withdrawn over concerns it would be cramped.

The latest proposal also includes a shop unit at ground level, which has permission to open between 09:00 and 21:00 daily.

The applicant has also said he wants to install new windows in the building.
