A man was arrested after reaching speeds of 100mph during a high-speed chase.

Gloucestershire Police said the pursuit began on the A40 in Cheltenham and led officers all the way to the Forest of Dean.

The support of Gwent Police and the National Police Air Service was called in during the incident on 6 February, which ended when a stinger device was used in Coleford.

A 21-year-old man from the Forest of Dean was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, driving while under the influence of drugs, and failing to stop.

The man has since been bailed and officers are waiting for drug tests to be analysed.
