Seventh arrest over suspected sexual exploitation

A seventh person has been arrested as part of an investigation into modern slavery and sexual exploitation in part of Sheffield.
South Yorkshire Police said they arrested a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of modern slavery and human trafficking concerning sexual exploitation on Friday 28 March.
The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation by specialist officers in the Modern Slavery and Organised Immigration Crime Unit into reports, in November 2024, of sexual exploitation taking place in the Arbourthorne area of Sheffield.
The woman was released on police bail.
The latest arrest follows the arrests of a man and a woman in December 2024 and the arrests of three men and a woman in January 2025.
All six were arrested on suspicion of modern slavery offences concerning sexual exploitation.
They were released on police bail.
