A man has been charged with attempting to murder a woman in a stabbing at a business centre.

The victim, who is aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the attack at the Solent Centre in Whiteley, Hampshire, on Wednesday.

Police said she remained in a stable condition.

Anwar Ashraf, 37, who is of no fixed address but previously lived in Southsea, is due before Basingstoke magistrates on Friday.

Police previously said officers were called at 09:15 BST to an office where they found an injured woman and man.

The woman had stab wounds to her abdomen, chest, back and arm, detectives said.

The man, whose injuries were not disclosed, was arrested and also taken to hospital.

Police previously cordoned off one of three buildings at the Solent Centre, which is a complex of offices and shops.
