A woman has died after being hit by a driver who had been travelling away from police in north-west London, the Metropolitan Police has said.

It happened at about 14:10 GMT in Grahame Park Way, Edgware. The Met said officers provided treatment to the woman before paramedics arrived, but she died at the scene.

The car had been driving away from a police vehicle prior to the collision and did not stop at the scene, the force added.

The vehicle was found abandoned a short time later.

No arrests have been made, road closures remain in place and work is ongoing to find the occupants of the car.

The Met urged anyone with information on the collision to contact them.
