Jersey's new ferry service has said it is happy to "move on" and get its services ready for taking over in March following a legal dispute.

Danish operator DFDS was awarded the 20 year contract to operate Jersey's ferry services following a competitive tender process.

Rival company Brittany Ferries argued there had been bias in the way the tender process had been carried out and called for a judicial review.

On Monday, the Court of Appeal ruled there were "no arguable grounds" for a review and that Brittany Ferries' claims were unfounded.

Dennis Sorenson from DFDS said he welcomed the decision.

He said: "The ruling confirms that the tender process was conducted fairly, and we are pleased that we can now move on and continue to focus on getting the service up and running to be ready for 28 March."
