An attempted murder inquiry has been launched after a man in his twenties was shot during an incident in a car park, according to police.

The man arrived at hospital with a gunshot wound at about 22:00 BST on Saturday after an argument between several men in a car park off Oak Lane and Victor Street in Bradford, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

The man's injuries were described as serious but not believed to be life-threatening.

Det Insp Suzanne Hall urged anyone with information to contact police.

A force spokesperson said a scene remained in place while officers continued their inquiries.

Ms Hall said: "All firearms offences are treated extremely seriously, and we can reassure residents a full investigation is ongoing into the circumstances of this incident."
