Road closed after two-vehicle crash

A rural road has been closed following a two-vehicle collision.

A stretch of the B4215 near Newent, Gloucestershire, is shut in both directions following the crash near the petrol station in Highleadon just before 14:00 GMT on Wednesday.

A woman sustained serious head injuries, Gloucestershire Police said, and was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Emergency services remain at the scene, the force said, and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Drivers have been advised to find alternative routes.
