Six people have been arrested after two men were left injured in an "unprovoked" attack following a football match.
The two victims, aged 20 and 49, were walking along Marina Dolman Way after the game between Bristol and Blackburn Rovers, when they were attacked by a group of men on 25 January.
Avon and Somerset Police said the men sustained cuts and bruises during the incident.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the attack, the latest being two men, aged 19 and 22, who were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder on Thursday following a pre-planned operation.
'Shocking violence'
Sergeant Sam Bracey said: "Footage from CCTV cameras and shared on social media showing the incident has been analysed, and several witnesses spoken to, as part of our efforts to identify those responsible for this nasty attack on two men.
"Six suspects have today been questioned in connection with what happened and released on bail to allow for further enquiries to be carried out,"
Sgt Bracey said the latest arrests "mark an important step forward" in their investigation and the force was continuing "to seek criminal convictions against those responsible" and "significant football banning orders",
"Ultimately, there can be no excuse for such shocking violence," he added.
