A 63-year-old pedestrian has died after being hit by an HGV in Sheffield.

Emergency services were called to Carlisle Street East at around 13:30 BST on Tuesday following reports of a collision.

South Yorkshire Police said the man, who has not been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers investigating the collision have appealed for any witnesses on anyone who may have dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.

"We are asking for any witnesses to the collision or any motorists in the area around the time of the incident with dashcam footage to come forward," a spokesperson for the force said.

"Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the pedestrian shortly before the collision, or who witnessed the collision itself."
