Driver arrested as two women die after road crash

A man has been arrested after two women died following a three-vehicle crash.
Essex Police was called to Burnham Road, Rettendon, Essex at 23:30 BST on Monday after reports of a collision.
The force confirmed on Tuesday that two women in a white Ford Fiesta had both died - a woman in her 90s at the scene and the driver, in her 50s, in hospital.
A 36-year-old man from Witham has been arrested on the suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been held in custody.
A number of roads were closed following the collision near a major junction.
The A130 at Rettendon Turnpike was shut, along with nearby links to the A132 and B1012, just outside South Woodham Ferrers.
Essex Police has also urged anyone with more information to come forward and help with inquiries.
