Pedestrian who died after being hit by car named

A pedestrian who died after he was hit by a car was a "talented" footballer who had the "whole world at his feet", his family has said.
Cain Pears, 20, from Workington, Cumbria, was involved in a collision with a red Ford Fiesta at about 03:20 BST on the A595.
In a tribute, his family said he was training to become a quantity surveyor and "truly touched so many lives for the good".
Mr Pears was pronounced dead at the scene, Cumbria Police said, as it continued to appeal for witnesses.
His family, who also released a photograph through police, said: "Cain was such a popular lad and had the whole world at his feet and was carving out a wonderful future ahead of him.
"The world is a darker place without his smile and infectious laugh."
They also thanked the emergency services who responded, as well as anyone who witnessed the scene.
"Cain was a talented footballer and training to be quantity surveyor and loving it," the statement added.
"He loved his friends, his girlfriend, and his family so dearly and we him.
"There are no words to describe the void he leaves behind as he truly touched so many lives for the good, sleep easy son."
Cumbria Police has asked witnesses to the crash, which happened between Workington and Whitehaven, or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
