Badger injured after being tangled in a goal net
A badger was rescued after he got stuck in a football goal net on a school field.
South Essex Wildlife Hospital received a call just after 08:00 GMT on Saturday that the animal had got twisted in the netting at a school in Basildon, Essex.
They managed to cut him free but as he was badly tangled he was taken back to the hospital where he had an injury assessment while under sedation.
The male badger had sustained several constriction injuries to his neck and front legs, but is now recovering and receiving treatment.
Once he is fully recovered he will be released by the hospital.
