A man has been jailed for 13 years for raping and sexually assaulting a woman.

Christian Dodd, 46, was arrested in August 2022 after police received a report of rape.

A jury at Truro Crown Court found Dodd, previously of Cliff Road, Falmouth, Cornwall, guilty of one count of rape of a woman and one count of assault.

He was jailed for seven years for the sexual assault and 13 years for the rape, to run concurrently. Dodd, now of Paignton, Devon, will also sign the Sex Offenders' Register for life.

He was found not guilty of one count of sexual assault, relating to an incident in November 2021.

Investigating officer Det Con Isabelle Woodall said after sentencing: "It has been a trying time, and it is a relief for all concerned that it has finally been brought to a conclusion."
