Jail for man who repeatedly attacked his partner

A man who subjected his partner to "deeply unpleasant violence" has been jailed.
Kieran Bond, 22, of no fixed address, first attacked his most recent partner last June when he punched her during a trip to Blackpool.
Other incidents included kicking and punching her on several occasions at her home in the Lincoln area and threatening her with a knife after forcing her to lift her top.
He was jailed for four years and five months at Lincoln Crown Court on Monday after previously pleading guilty to eight charges relating to incidents between June and November 2024.
They included three charges of actual bodily harm and charges of battery, intentional strangulation, witness intimidation, controlling and coercive behaviour, and perverting the course of justice.
The court heard that Bond had hit his partner's foot with a hammer and, on another occasion, had placed his arm on her throat for a "minute or two".
In a statement, his victim said she "genuinely thought she might pass out".
But the court heard she had since retracted many of the allegations against Bond, and she did not want to read out her victim impact statement.
Following the violence, Bond had put pressure on her to retract her statement and rang her on three occasions, the court was told.
'History of offending'
Paul O'Shea, in mitigation, said Bond "accepts he has used violence".
"He frankly had an appalling upbringing, and was in and out of care," Mr O'Shea added.
"He has used some of his time in prison constructively, doing some courses."
Judge Simon Hirst told Bond that he had a history of offending against vulnerable women.
"You have pleaded guilty to deeply unpleasant offences of violence against your partner," the judge said.
"There was fear of violence on a number of occasions."
