Historic hotel enters administration with 60 jobs at risk

A 165-year-old family run hotel in Argyll and Bute has gone into administration putting 60 local jobs at risk.
The George Hotel in Inveraray has been owned by the Clark family for seven generations but was listed for sale last year.
The hotel and restaurant situated on the banks of Loch Fyne is popular with locals and tourists.
Administrators have said the business will operate as normal while efforts to find a new owner are ongoing.
Thomas McKay from administrators Begbie Traynor said the hotel has been struggling with "historic debts" which have been "crippling the cash flow" of the business.
He said: "The business has been in the Clark family for seven generations and their priority was to safeguard the jobs and future of the 60 full and part-time employees.
"The hotel has a fantastic history and beautiful location, offering excellent accommodation and food.
"The staff have also been fantastic in their hard work and everyone is determined to find the best possible outcome for the benefit of all stakeholders."
