A man has been found dead after police were called to reports of potentially harmful gas in a village.

West Yorkshire Police said emergency services were sent to a caravan on Providence Lane in Oakworth, near Keighley, at about 14:05 GMT on Friday.

Investigations of the caravan suggested the possible presence of toxic gas and specialist equipment was deployed by the fire service.

However, police said nothing harmful was subsequently detected and the area has been declared safe.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious and a file would be prepared for the coroner.
