A second person has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a teenager who was shot dead in south London.

The boy, aged 17, remains in police custody following the shooting of Lathaniel Burrell, 16, on Paradise Road near Stockwell Tube station last Tuesday, the Met Police said.

Omar Prempeh, 32, of Stanstead Road, Forest Hill, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court charged with murder on Monday and is due at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

A third person, a 40-year-old woman, has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and possession with intent to supply of Class A and B drugs.

Det Ch Insp Sarah Lee said inquiries relating to the shooting continued.

She said although detectives had "made progress" with the investigation, they continued to appeal for anyone with information, or any doorbell or dashcam footage, to come forward.

"Our priority remains tracking down those responsible for killing Lathaniel and bringing them to justice," she said.
