A suspect has been arrested after a man was stabbed outside a Co-op supermarket.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after he was attacked in Westdale Lane East, Gedling, Nottinghamshire, at about 22:30 BST on Tuesday.

A search led police to arrest 45-year-old man in Bakersfield, Nottingham, at about 14:40 on Wednesday.

He remains in police custody while the victim remains in hospital "with serious injuries", police said.

A large cordon was set up by officers outside the store which the force said would remain "for some time".

Supt James Woolley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said the force was not looking for any other suspects.
