A road in east Hull is set to be closed for four weeks while speed bumps are installed.

Hull City Council said work to install the traffic calming measures on Summergangs Road was due to start on 10 February.

It will involve speed bumps being put in near the junctions with Swinburne Street and James Reckitt Avenue.

The project will be carried out in two phases, each lasting two weeks, to ensure "there is still ample on-street parking".

Mark Ieronimo, the council's portfolio holder for roads, said: "The council acknowledges the disruption this programme of works may cause residents and motorists and thanks them for their patience."

Bin collections will still take place as normal.

The work is due to be completed by 7 March.
