The family of a man who died after being hit by a car in St Ives has paid tribute to him.

David Clark, 83, and another pedestrian were taken to hospital after the crash on Trelyon Avenue on 30 April, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Mr Clark died from his injuries on 7 May.

He and his wife Daphne were on holiday in St Ives celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and her retirement, the family said.

"David Clark grew up and lived in Mickleton in the Cotswolds," the family said in a statement issued by police.

“A loving husband to Daphne, proud father to Kerry, Samantha and grandfather to Gee, Issy, Will, Luke and Bea, foster grandad to Skye and Evie and great-grandfather to Freddie.

“David and Daphne were on holiday in St Ives celebrating Daphne's retirement and their recent 50th wedding anniversary with their little dog Zara; a place they enjoyed visiting and spending time together.”
