Supertram staff fundraise in driver's memory
Transport workers have raised £3,000 for a cancer charity in memory of a long-serving tram driver who died from the disease.
Matthew Orange, 49, had worked for Supertram in Sheffield since 1996 - only two years after the network opened in the city.
To honour his memory, staff dressed in orange in a tribute to his surname and to show solidarity and respect for nearly 30 years of service. The money they collected was donated to Macmillan Cancer Support.
Supertram operations manager Sharon Galloway said: "Matt was a kind, thoughtful, and highly valued member of the driving team, whose unique presence will be missed by all."
Macmillan Cancer Support provides information and support to people living with cancer and their families.
Supertram added that Mr Orange was known for his "gentle nature, dedication, and dry sense of humour".
