Appeal over disappearance of teen 27 years ago
Cleveland PoliceDetectives have renewed a plea for information about the disappearance 27 years ago of a teenage girl who they believe was murdered.
Donna Keogh was 17 when she went missing in Middlesbrough on 19 April 1998.
Her body has never been found, but officers believed Donna had “come to serious harm” and her family remained “desperate for answers”, the force said on Friday.
Det Ch Insp Steven Chatterton, from Cleveland Police's Historic Investigation Unit, said: "Thousands of investigative actions have been carried out and statements gathered, but we still don't have the answers we need to find Donna or the person responsible for her death."
Cleveland Police has previously apologised to Donna's parents over its handling of the investigation.
'Somebody must know'
Donna frequented areas of Middlesbrough town centre including Hartington Road, Aske Road and Bow, according to detectives.
Appealing for people to come forward, Det Ch Insp Chattetton said: "It is not too late.
"A team of detectives continue trying to piece together what happened to Donna, but we still need help from the public to assist us with the investigation.
“Somebody out there must know or has heard what's happened to her.
"All information is relevant to us, no matter how irrelevant you may think it is or how uncertain about dates and times you are.”
