City tram stop to close during maintenance work

A tram stop in Nottingham is set to temporarily close while track maintenance work takes place nearby.
The "network improvements" between Middle Hill and Weekday Cross, near the Lace Market stop, are scheduled for five days from 12 April.
No tram services will operate between Old Market Square and Nottingham Station during that time, Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said.
Normal service is expected to resume on 17 April, the firm added.
Overnight preparation work is planned to take place from 7 to 11 April.
NET said Nottingham City Transport's Green line buses would accept tram tickets or passes while the maintenance work takes place.
However, they will not be stopping at the Lace Market stop due to traffic diversions.
Passengers are being urged to allow extra time and to check affected routes before travelling.
Trevor Stocker, head of operations at NET, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience these upcoming works may cause and encourage customers with any queries to contact us via our online portal, or to speak to a member of our team who will be based at nearby tram stops while the work is taking place."
