A 14-year-old cyclist has died after being involved in a collision involving a car, police have said.

Leyton Coombs was seriously injured in the incident on Great Stoke Way in the Stoke Gifford area of Bristol at about 19:40 GMT on 18 March.

Despite the best efforts of medics, he died in hospital on Sunday, said an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson.

They added: "Our thoughts are with Leyton's family at this devastating time."

"They are being supported by a specially-trained officer and will be kept updated as our investigation progresses," they said.

Police have asked any witnesses or anyone with any footage that could be relevant to get in touch.
