Injured man rescued after falling in mountain snow
A man who fell in deep snow and dislocated his shoulder has been rescued from a mountain.
Patterdale Mountain Rescue Team (PMRT) said it was called out to Birkhouse Moor in the Lake District on Wednesday, just after 13:50 GMT.
A team doctor was nearby at Helvellyn, near Ambleside, and was able to reach the casualty quickly and treat him until other rescuers arrived.
The 10-strong team stretchered the man to Glenridding in a rescue that took six hours. It was the team's fifth callout of the year.
