Man arrested after stabbing in Liskeard

A man has been arrested after a suspected stabbing in Cornwall.

Devon and Cornwall Police said they were called to Church Street, Liskeard at about 22:55 GMT on Thursday after reports two men, who are believed to know each other, had been involved in an altercation.

They said the victim was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with serious injuries that were not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

Officers said a 53-year-old man from Truro was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and remained in police custody.

They have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident and anyone with information to contact them.
