Residents urged to share views on 'crucial' plan
Residents in an area of East Sussex have been urged by a council to take part in consultation on a "crucial" stage of its local plan.
Lewes District Council's first-phase consultation, which runs until 28 February, focuses on policies and will consider sites for future developments including new homes and areas for business growth.
The plans also set out the local policy requirements against which future planning applications will be judged.
Council leader Zoe Nicholson said: "We need everyone to engage with us again to ensure that our local plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our communities."
The plans are also expected to provide a planning framework for the area up to 2040, so that it is "green, inclusive and a beautiful place to live and work", the council said.
The second phase of the consultation will be held later in 2025 and have a greater emphasis on more rural parts of the district, while also re-evaluating areas considered during the first phase.
