Sexual predator raped girl, 16, after party
A "sexual predator" who raped a 16-year-old girl who he lured to his flat and gave alcohol after a party in a seaside town has been jailed.
Jonathon Downie met the girl at a gathering in Morecambe last summer before his "sickening" assault, Lancashire Police said.
After the attack, the 25-year-old asked the girl: "Did I rape you?"
Downie, of no fixed address, admitted rape at Preston Crown Court and was sentenced to five years.
'Incredibly brave'
Downie gave the girl alcohol at his flat before attacking her.
The girl pleaded with him to stop touching her but Downie continued and then raped her, Lancashire Police said.
She managed to push him away and Downie asked her: "Did I rape you?"
When she replied, 'yes, why didn't you you stop when I told you to?', he replied, 'are you going to get me done?', the court heard.
Det Con Charlie Brown said: "Downie's victim has been incredibly brave, and has shown immeasurable strength, despite her young age."
He added: "Downie is a predator, and his behaviour is perverted. I welcome the sentence handed down on him today.
"This sickening behaviour will never be tolerated in Lancashire."
