A popular food and drink festival will return to Bradford in 2025 for its year as UK City of Culture.

Taste BD was last held in City Park over two days in 2023 and will return to Bradford in May.

Bradford Council is seeking an operator to run the event, which attracted more than 25,000 visitors in its first year.

According to the council, the event will "celebrate local food and drink providers and local craft businesses to drive business opportunities for small businesses".

The council said it was looking for a "suitable experienced provider" to deliver the event.

It said the "high-quality, outdoor city centre food and drink market festival" would "drive footfall, increase local spend and support the local economy".

In its previous format the festival featured art and performances as well as food and drink stalls, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Companies have until 13 January to bid for the contract.

The government announced on Saturday a further £5m of funding for Bradford 2025, taking the total pot to £15m.
