Highland Council has put forward proposals to build two new schools sharing the same site in Dingwall.

Parents have been campaigning for a replacement for St Clement's for 20 years.

The school, which is more than 100 years old, has about 50 pupils and some of them have multiple disorders affecting their speech, hearing or sight as well as physical disabilities.

The council has now proposed that St Clement's could share a site with a new Dingwall Primary, rather than push ahead with a previously planned stand alone school.

Highland councillors will be asked at a meeting on Thursday to agree that a public consultation be held on the new proposal.
