The Jersey Alliance said it was with regret to announce the closure of its political party

A political party in Jersey said it was "with regret" it has had to announce its closure.

Members of The Jersey Alliance asked the Royal Court to dissolve the political party on Wednesday.

The Jersey Alliance said despite the "setback" many of its members remain "committed" to contributing to future of the island.

It said former members may choose to participate in the 2026 elections either as independent candidates or within a new political entity.

Chair Gregory Guida said: "It is with regret that we announce the closure of what has been one of the few political parties ever formed in Jersey.

"In keeping with our name, The Jersey Alliance was intended to be a dynamic assembly of individuals proven in their effectiveness, driven by altruism, and capable of collective action," he said.

"Although the electorate rejected our model with The Jersey Alliance, our group comprises highly capable individuals, many of whom are already making plans for the 2026 elections."
