Mike Glasby, 31, fell from his motorbike on the M53 slip road on Sunday, police say

A man who died after falling from his motorbike on a motorway slip road was "much-loved and known for his kindness" and his death leaves an "irreplaceable void", his family have said.

Mike Glasby's blue Suzuki hit a road barrier on the M53 at the Moreton Spur on the northbound carriageway on the Junction 2 slip road on Sunday and he died from his injuries, Merseyside Police said.

The 31-year-old's family said he was a "beloved partner, daddy, son, brother, uncle and nephew".

A 30-year-old man from Wirral has been arrested on suspicion of causing Mr Glasby's death by dangerous driving and drug driving.

Mr Glasby's family said: "It is with deep sorrow and overwhelming grief that we, the family of Mike Glasby, announce the tragic passing of our beloved partner, daddy, son, brother, uncle and nephew.

"Mike was much-loved, known for his kindness, sense of humour, and unwavering support for his family and friends.

"His sudden and untimely death has left an irreplaceable void in our lives."

Detectives have asked for witnesses who saw a blue Suzuki Bandit and a black Kawasaki prior to the crash.

Det Sgt Kurt Timpson said the force's thoughts were with Mr Glasby's family, who were being supported by specialist officers.

"I would appeal directly to anyone who saw anything and who has yet to speak with my team to please get in touch."
